One of the mantras that are often replied to OS X is that it does not need maintenance. I myself will have said it a thousand times to quickly explain the substantial differences with the Windows environment, but it is not always strictly true. Same thing as “just drag the apps into the trash bin to uninstall them” because there are actually a number of exceptions. In principle, it’s good to point out these things, anyone who has gone to Mac has noticed the drastic reduction in attentionsrequired by the system, but with time you will discover some procedures that can help keep your computer in shape and solve problems. I’m not particularly devoted to maintenance but in the past I found myself using an app that would allow me to completely uninstall the most demanding software ( AppCleaner ), one to delete foreign language files ( Monolingual ) and one to locate and delete large unused files ( DaisyDisk ). In addition to this, I had to rebuild the Mail database (using 14 boxes is quite challenging), look for duplicates in iTunes and finally delete the user cache with the great and simpleYasu . In short, I eventually filled up small applications designed to perform specific maintenance tasks. I overcome this confusion some time later when I discovered and tried CleanMyMac, software that initially approached me with much skepticism. I can not tell you exactly why, but it looked like a “utonto” product, one of the worst that I did. In fact, I had read malicious articles that claimed that this program eliminated system files creating problems for users. I found the license of the first version almost by accident, it seems to me with some bundles at a discounted price, and I decided to try it in a test environment. It was April 7, 2010, so exactly 5 years ago when I published the review of CleanMyMac 1, which, unlike expectations, proved to be safe and efficient. Since then I’ve always had it on all of my Macs in 2013 to version 2, which I used with satisfaction until yesterday. Today I received a mail from MacPaw who warned me of the release of CleanMyMac 3 and I wanted to try it out right away.
